Pray4USA Scriptures

Scriptures that shed light on praying for the United States of America:

In Genesis chapter 18 God tells Abraham that He would spare Sodom, in spite of the people’s wickedness, if there were just 10 righteous people living there. If Sodom was a city of 25,000, then 10 people would be .0004 of the city. The number .0004 times the approximately 380 million people in the United States equals 152,000 people.

2Chronicles 7:14 “If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Daniel 9:4-19 shows us that we should repent on behalf of the United States.

Jeremiah 29:7 tells us that we should pray for the peace and prosperity of our city (and country), because, if it prospers, we will, too.

Malachi 4:6 teaches us to pray that the hearts of the fathers (and mothers) will be turned to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents.

Matthew 9:37-38 “Then he said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out laborers into the harvest field.’” (NIV)

1Timothy 2:1-2 teaches us the importance of praying for our leaders.
